"Just once more," they had said when Ellie's team petitioned for it. She was busy with Palmer, falling in love with science while he fell in love with God, and Kent was left to pick up the pieces. He wanted another damn go at it. The Machine had a pricetag in the billions; it was begging to be used again.

But they wouldn't let Ellie go. They wouldn't let just anyone go. They wanted someone who knew how it worked, who had been there from the beginning, but someone who isn't completely taken in by Ellie's words.

That leads them to a dozen people and they end up with Kent. He's blind, but that's not what decides it. They claim that he wouldn't hallucinate the way Ellie did. That he has a unique perspective.

And, he's already proven himself steady and loyal.

He experiences it all the way that Ellie does, but something goes wrong on the other end. Maybe another terrorist attack. Maybe not. All he knows is that he's in the sphere and then, suddenly, he's floating, unable to find his footing until a great crash and he slams into the bottom of the machine.

He groans, pulling his helmet on with a grunt and a wince.

"Fuck this," he mutters, finding the edge of the sphere with his hands. There was a door there somewhere. He just - has to find it.

Kent presses himself close, not intending on leaving. "Now you have to be quiet," he murmurs.

“Oh,” they mutter, tilting their head back to invite another kiss.

This might be harder than they thought. Why did they have to get out the bottle of wine?

He shushes them softly, helping them out by capturing their mouth in another kiss. He steps back, pulling Feldspar with him.

They exhale softly through their nose as they kiss him back, using their teeth this time around. They bite and suck on his lips, pausing to take a drink from their cup and then happily diving back in.

Kent tsks softly, reaching for the wineglass himself in their hands. He does step back, guiding them to the bed as he tries not to moan too loudly.

They grin in response, walking with them to their bed and lowering themselves onto it. They grab Kent’s shirt and pull them down, finding his neck with their teeth.

Kent crawls atop them and straddles their waist, leaning down to kiss them fiercely, using teeth, using anything he has as he rocks into him, desperate for some relief underneath his rough sewn pants.

Feldspar’s absolutely thrilled that Kent’s meeting their energy, bitey and a little rough, pressing them down like he just wants to claw their clothes off their body. Then again, it could also just be his strategy for trying to get Feldspar to lose their bet.

They grin and slide their hand down to cup between his legs.

Maybe it's both. Maybe Kent now knows what it is that Feldspar needs, and he's prepared for it. Maybe he just wants to fuck him.

Either way, sits up and starts to drag their clothes off of them.

Feldspar quickly follows, though they’re trying their damnedest to also get Kent naked. They tear at his tunic and get it over his head, leaning up to bite on the sensitive bit of flesh surrounding Kent’s nipple - they still don’t understand that piece of anatomy, but it doesn’t mean that they’d don’t appreciate it.

He sucks in a hiss of air and pulls away giving them narrowed eyes but he kisses him again to keep from cursing him out. He kicks off his jeans and slides a hand between Feldspar's legs, slipping a finger inside of them as he does.

Kent’s decided to take a page out of Feldspar’s book and play dirty. Good. They like it, even if it’s making it more difficult for them to stay silence because it feels so good.

They bite their own lip hard and sink back into Kent’s slender finger, just to prove that they can handle this no problem.

And Kent slides in another one, just a touch, curving his fingers as if he can find the spot that makes them cry out. He's determined to win this bet, only because he wants to. Not because he has to.

Feldspar grits their teeth as Kent pushes another finger in and -is he curving them? Oh. Oh, that feels nice.

They gasp as quietly as they can manage and grab at Kent’s arms, digging their fingers into his toned biceps. “If you’re gonna bite you better leave a mark,” they whisper.

He shushes them with a sharp noise, but he sinks his teeth into them like they want, wanting to leave a mark himself. If he marks them, maybe then they'll have something to remember in space. Something to let the loneliness wane.

"Fels told me why you're so desperate for me," he murmurs against his skin.

Kent sinks his teeth in and Feldspar bites on their lip to keep from groaning too loudly.

“Did they? How the hell would they know?” But as they say these exact words they realize - and honestly, it seems pretty stupid that they didn’t realize it was their mating cycle.

"Because I slept all day," he murmurs, kissing them again, tasting their tongue with his, feeling their skin under his fingers.

“Oh,” they finally say, grinning as they turn their head away from the kiss. “Oh, right. That little difference of biology between us.” They thrust back against his hand, asking for more.

"Exactly," he murmurs against him, grinning and biting gently, fucking them with his fingers until he can't stand it. He sits up and unties the belt around his waist, trying to shuck off his clothes.

Kent’s fingers are a lot different that the other fingers that might have done this before to them, including their own, and as Kent fucks them they finally lie back with a soft groan. Anything louder and they’ll lose, and they will. Not. Lose.

But when Kent pulls away they threaten to moan loudly in disappointment, but quickly bites their own lip to keep the noise in. They sit up instead and help tear away at Kent’s clothes.

Kent leans down to kiss them again and takes their hand, drawing it close to his own hardened cock. He kisses his neck. "Touch me," he murmurs. "And I'll be ready for you."

Feldspar does as ordered without hesitation, though they do let out a very quiet laugh. “You already are from the feel of it.”

“It’s not my fault you’re as big as my forearm,” they snort, lying back onto the bed and guiding Kent by his hips closer to them. “I could use my mouth instead of my hand. Do you think you’d like that more?”

He sits back, pulling the blankets off of the bed and onto the floor.
